An end is in sight

I took my first of three finals this past Tuesday. I made an A on the first one...I hope it's an indication of how well I will do on the two that remain. I've been studying, so I'm not too worried. After next Tuesday, I will be done with classes for massage and all that remains is to complete my massage hours, take the national massage competency exam, and apply for my TN license. Wish me luck!

My last day at Outback is this Saturday. I still have the option to pick up shifts during the week if I'm needed and I'll probably pick up 1-2 shifts each week. It's nice to be able to work for a few hours and leave with cash in my pocket. I will start substituting at Harding Academy next week during the day so that I'm home more in the evenings to spend with Jason. I don't think he'll complain too much about that. I'm still working for UT-HSC with the grant program, but that's only on Saturday mornings right now.

Another end in sight that my family has been praying for is the daily pain my mother has been experiencing. She has a ruptured disk in her lower back right above her sacrum and it has been causing a severe case of sciatica. My mother has surgery scheduled for March 4th to fix the rupture and fuse the discs. I will be traveling to Colorado to help my mother post-surgery and will be gone for at least 2 weeks, but may stay for up to a month. It will be the first time since Jason and I have been married that I will be away from him for this long, but I'm sure we will survive. I've heard it said, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder." I hope they're right. :)
